Organic food in the supermarket is generally more expensive. However there are cheaper
ways to buy organic food including local box schemes, which supply local seasonal
vegetables.
Soil Association research has shown that, on average, organic fruit and vegetables are substantially cheaper when bought directly from the farmer compared to supermarkets. In any case, remember that you are getting more nutrients per pound of vegetable and that eating organic may also be an investment in your future health.
